Maggie Dent
Maggie Dent is one of Australia's favourite parenting authors and educators, with a particular interest in the early years, adolescence and resilience – as well as being an undisputed 'boy champion'. Maggie’s experience includes teaching, counselling, and working in palliative care/funeral services and suicide prevention. She is a dedicated advocate to quietly changing lives in our families and communities. She is the mother of four sons and a very grateful grandmother.
Maggie is the author of 10 major books, including her new 2024 release, Help Me Help My Teen, 2022's Girlhood: Raising our little girls to be healthy, happy and heard, the bestselling Mothering Our Boys and the 2020 release From Boys to Men. She has hosted six seasons of the award-winning ABC podcast, Parental As Anything and in 2021 released a book of the same name. Maggie is also host of the The Good Enough Dad podcast.
Gen Muir
Connected Parenting founder Gen Muir is a parent educator, obstetric social worker and mother of four boys. She is passionate about helping families to connect and thrive amid the many challenges of modern parenting.
Gen has a Bachelor of Social Work from UNSW and a Graduate Diploma in Grief and Bereavement Counselling. She is also a qualified Circle of Security and Tuning into Kids facilitator.
Gen has appeared on Sunrise, The Morning Show, Studio 10, 2Day FM and ABC, and is a spokesperson for LEGO Duplo, H&M Parent Hub and Kiindred. Gen's first book, Little People, Big Feelings, was published by Macmillan Australia in January 2024.
