This webinar is the brainchild of our host, Dannielle Miller...
Danni is interested in how we can have connection, agency, and altruism in these times – and what are the keys to maintaining your child's (and your own!) morale while socially isolating?
Danni is joined by three colleagues to offer circles of support across the areas of calming anxiety, maintaining digital wellbeing and effective learning:
Maggie Dent – Author, educator and resilience specialist
Finding a new sense of calm in an incredibly chaotic world.
When routines are disrupted, stress inevitably heightens. Maggie offers families practical tips for creating a new sense of predictability and safety in their homes during and beyond the COVID-19 crisis – and ways to seize this opportunity for greater connectedness and calm in your life.
Dr Kristy Goodwin – Author and digital wellbeing expert
Keeping tech in check when everyone's home.
Dr Kristy shares some realistic strategies to support your kids' and teens' digital wellbeing and learning and practical tips to preserve your sanity and productivity as you work from home.
Dr Prue Salter – Director of Enhanced Learning Educational Services
Learning effectively in a changing environment
Prue shars with parents the study skills tips and techniques they need to know to help students thrive academically despite the changes and disruptions to their learning. What do you need to know as a parent about facilitating learning in the home environment?
Please note each of our speakers is donating their time to this cause.
All funds raised will be donated to Women's Community Shelters.
This webinar is an opportunity for all participants to wrap vulnerable women and kids within a circle of support, whilst being supported themselves by some of Australia's most trusted voices as we face new parenting challenges in unprecedented times.
Women’s Community Shelters (WCS) works with communities to establish shelters for women and children fleeing domestic violence. They currently have seven shelters in NSW and are working with two other communities to open additional refuges later this year.
The next few months are going to be a very challenging time for families and domestic violence is likely to rise as more of us socially isolate, and face financial and health pressures. In China, local domestic violence services have revealed that the number of domestic violence cases reported to police have tripled in recent months.
Adding to the pressures being placed on WCS to deliver their life-changing services is the fact that many of their planned fundraising activities, such as lunches and galas, now have to be cancelled.
