For many of us living on planet Earth right now, life feels hard, and it can be difficult to parent optimistically with the day-to-day challenges we’re facing as individuals and globally.
Our children and teens are bearing the full brunt of this and it’s not for nothing that they are being labelled ‘the anxious generation’*. The good news is that modern neuroscience is showing us where we have been going wrong. It’s also showing us a better way, and it’s something we can all access because it lives right inside us.
If your child or teenager struggles with anxiety, (or if you do too), then this masterclass is for you.
In this very special masterclass, we gather the elders to guide us in parenting through these challenging times. Queen of common sense Maggie Dent is joined by the world’s top-selling parenting author, retired psychologist Steve Biddulph, to help us all reclaim ‘the part of us that knows’.
In his new book, Wild Creature Mind, Steve explores the latest research on our brain, which shows that we have two minds. One is our normal mind which ‘overthinks, rattles about and gets defensive’. The other is our Wild Creature Mind and this is our more complex, intuitive, empathetic and insightful mind.
Steve explains that our modern, busy society has caused a disconnect between our two minds and basically we are living life with half a brain. Using simple methods, however, we can help our kids, teens and ourselves reconnect to our ‘animal mind’ and in the process overcome anxiety, develop good boundaries and heal to become whole again.
